St. Richard's participates in this citywide collaborative program. All Racine parishes work together to offer weekly Mass or a Communion service in the larger nursing homes throughout the city. Volunteers gather at 1:30 p.m. to assist the residents in attending the service, pray with them, and join in conversation. Volunteers then help return the patients to their rooms. The specific months and dates are announced in the parish bulletin.
St. Richard also provides for the spiritual needs of the residents of Prospect Heights Community Living Center, which is an assisted living facility for people affected by mental illness.
For those unable to visit the nursing homes, donations of knitted or chrocheted lap robes and slippers are needed. Contact the Parish Office for details.
